At Walton Mill Storage we have climate controlled self storage units ranging in size from 5x5 (25 sqft) to 12x24 (288 sqft) and lots of options in between. Most folks have a hard time picturing what a particular size storage unit can hold. In general, you can think of the units in 4 size classes from small to extra large.
The different size classes break down like this --
- Extra Large: over 200 sqft
Now we'll pick some specific sizes and talk about what they can hold.
- 5x5: equivalent to an average walk in closet
- 5x12: equivalent to an average backyard shed. Can hold several rooms of furniture
- 8x12: Can hold the contents of a typical one bedroom apartment.
- 12x12: Can hold the contents of a small house
- 12x19: Can hold the contents of a 2 bedroom house
- 12x24: Can hold the contents of a 3-4 bedroom house
